At some Point in our lives, most women will be guilty of making a ‘must-have’ purchase, only for it to be shortly banished to the back of their wardrobes, price tag intact. But it turns out that this wasteful mindset is worse than we originally thought.
Modern women have adopted a ‘wear it once culture’ when it comes to their wardrobes, wearing items only a handful of times before considering them old, according to a new study. Most women are fond of binning clothes after only a few wears, so they aren’t pictured in same outfit twice on social media.
A detailed survey of almost 2,000 women found that the majority of fashion purchases see the light of day just seven times.
In addition, the study found that the average woman typically spends
N30,000 per month or N360,000 per year on clothes – most of which are left languishing in wardrobes unworn.
