Aba, the commercial city of Abia State, couldn’t have experienced more excitement and fun as it did last weekend when Globacom’s Mega Music Nationwide Tour hit the town.
Residents of the Enyimba City, as Aba is also known, were super thrilled especially when they sighted the artistes that came to perform at the show.
The Eldorado Event Centre was filled to its capacity and then some other fun seekers were even outside the hall; all of them wanted to experience the fun first hand.
As if in anticipation of the overflow, Globacom had arranged for a mega LED screen outside the hall to enable those who could not get into the hall to be a part of the show.
The thirst of the surging crowd for good entertainment was sufficiently assuaged by the lineup of stars which also included the delectable pair of Uche Jombo and Juliet Ibrahim who anchored the show.
Man of the moment, Runtown, was exceptional with his ‘Mad Over You’ and then, popular rap artiste, Phyno captivated the audience with his hit tracks. And of course, when his main buddy, Olamide ‘Badoo’ joined him on stage, the hall practically erupted with massive excitement.
The energetic Omawumi was next. She provided a calming touch to the evening’s performance with a masterful delivery of her songs including ‘Kokoma’ and ‘Bonsue.’
Flavour wrapped up the evening of fun with his popular hits back to back as everybody got up and sang along with him.
The climax of Flavour’s performance was his invitation to the Nollywood star, Kanayo O. Kanayo, who plays the lead role of Globacom’s TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, to join him on stage. Together they sang the theme song of the programme which elicited huge ovation from the crowd.
To appreciate local talents and give them the platform to soar, Globacom lined up an array of local artistes to entertain the crowd. The company also showcased the winners of the #GlosingAba60secs online singing competition. The dancing competition staged at the event exclusively for attendees, was won by a teenager, Nancy Chizobam of Oxford International School, Aba.
