Dangote Group of Companies has said it would soon embark on the installation of a solar energy plant in Kano to generate electricity in the country.

This was stated by the Executive Director, Stakeholders Management and Corporate Communications of the Group, Mr. Mansur Ahmed, during an interactive session with newsmen in Kano on Saturday on the activities of Dangote Group to enhance the economic development of the country.

Ahmed said the proposed project will address erratic power supply to industries in the country, and will help reduce the country’s dependence on electricity supply from Kainji Dam, which largely depends on gas to power the plants.
