I was born in Ghana to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mom. I have two sisters and a brother. As a child, my family moved around a lot. I lived in Lebanon, Ivory Coast and Ghana. I found living in different countries adventurous, eventful and inspiring but quite stressful.
I had my elementary education in Lebanon. Afterwards, I went to Ivory Coast for my post-elementary education and I later attended the Ghana Institute of Languages where I studied English, French and Spanish. From there, I went to the Ghana Institute of Journalism where I studied Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations.
I had always wanted to be in the spotlight as a kid but I wanted to do music. I sang in the choir and I used to perform at talent shows. However, I got called for an audition after I won a beauty pageant in 2004. I attended the audition and I got the lead role. Fortunately for me, my parents knew I had always wanted to become a celebrity, so they supported me from day one. I am happy that I’m living my dream.
I don’t recall the name of the first TV series I acted in but the first movie that I featured in is Crime to Christ. Even though it was my first movie, I consider it to be my breakthrough because I played the lead role and it thrust me into the limelight. I’m not sure of the number of movies that I’ve acted in. However, I believe that having been in the industry for over 10 years, I must have featured in up to 100 movies in Ghana and Nigeria.
My production outfit, Jewelz Productions, aka Juliet Ibrahim Productions, has produced two award-winning movies, Shattered Romance and Number One Fan. I have also produced a short film titled, Hope, and a TV series, Every Woman Has A Story. I recently produced two of Sean Tizzle’s music videos, Latin Lover and Roll Up, and a yet-to-be-released video, Oluwa, by Iceberg Slim.
I am working on the second season of my TV series that’s airing presently. I am also working on my reality TV show, The Perfect Assistant. I recently launched my eyelash brand called Shadesbyjulietibrahim and lipstick brand, Moda Cosmetics, that’s currently selling across Africa. I am also busy hosting several corporate events, while still being the main anchor of shows in 27 cities for Globacom.
I have an active non-governmental organisation, the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation, which has been running for over six years now. We have contributed to several fundraisings and the most recent one that touched me was the Benue flood. I was reminded of the days I also lived as a refugee with my family and we had nothing. I experienced three civil wars during my childhood, so trust me when I say I sympathise with the Benue flood victims. So, my team and I decided to lend a hand and raise funds to help the victims. I threw a challenge to my colleagues, and some of them have been supporting so we are still raising funds towards the cause. However, the challenge is not only for celebrities; everyone can donate to the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation.
I have learnt that consistency is key. Having a thick skin is the best option in my career. Even though it is quite tough, but one should be able to be in the spotlight, yet live a private life. I have also learnt to put God first in everything I do. I always live up to my social responsibilities, and remember that I can’t please everyone.
My mother is my role model. However, I am inspired by my life, so I live everyday determined to be better than I was the day before.
Being a mother is the best thing that can happen to any woman. You become more responsible, protective and naturally nurturing. As regards marriage, I’m still a young woman and I’m not under any pressure to do anything. Let me focus on my career, work and family for now and the rest will unfold at the right time.
The kind of man I like is the man I’m currently with and I thank God for him. I believe everyone wanted to know if I had someone in my life, and that was the reason I uploaded pictures of us together. Now you know that special someone; we are happy and that’s all that matters now.
My style can be defined as classy, sexy and trendy. I love sunglasses or handbags
I love travelling. But I usually watch movies, wine and dine, and spend quality time with my family.
