APPLY NOW! 2017/18 Pan African University (PAU) Masters And PhD Scholarship Application Extended Till 15 June 2017

Pan African University offers full scholarships to all students enrolled into its programmes following a competitive admissions process. Calls for scholarship applications are issued and widely disseminated by the Rectorate and students apply online. PAU Institutes establish juries of local, regional and international experts to select students and Institute Boards submit the final list of selected students to the Rectorate. The PAU Senate makes final recommendations on student admission to the PAU Council. Before enrolment, each student signs a scholarship agreement specifying the conditions of the offer and the duties and responsibilities of both parties.

In the scholarship agreement, PAU Students are required to make an undertaking to serve any African Union Member State for a period equal to at least the duration of the scholarship after the successful completion of their studies. Students are obliged not to engage in any income generating activities that will interfere with their academic programmes. Student engagement in income generating activities shall be approved by the PAU Rectorate, only if such activities will not interfere with the student’s academic programme.

The scholarship grant covers the following costs:

  1. Tuition fees, paid directly to the relevant PAU institute;
  2. A stipend of $750 per month for Masters, and $1,100 for PhD students, to support the student’s living costs including food, housing, utilities, local transportation and medical insurance;
  3. Students not permanently resident in the country hosting the institute they are attending are entitled to a single, economy return air ticket for the most direct route between their country/city of permanent residence and the host country/city;and
  4. Students permanently resident in the country hosting the institute they are attending are entitled to $100 to cover the cost of their travel.

The PAU Rectorate reserves the right to terminate or suspend the grant if there is compelling evidence that the student has not complied with any of the provisions of the scholarship agreement.

Admission Requirements for Masters Programmes

* Candidates must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Undergraduate degree from a recognized university,with at least a second class upper division or its equivalent, in a relevant field;
  2. Certified copies of relevant certificates, transcripts (from university and high school), national I.D. card and passport personal details page;
  3. Recommendation letters from 2 Professors
  4. Clear colored passport size photograph(2cmx2cm);
  5. Maximum age of 30 years for male and 35 years for female applicants. 

*Candidates may be required to undergo a written/oral examination after pre- selection.*Candidates for the Master in Conference Interpreting and Translation programmes are required to have excellent knowledge of at least two of the African Union’s official languages (Arabic, English, French and Portuguese).

  Admission Requirements for Doctoral Programmes

Candidates must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. A Masters degree in a relevant field from PAU or any internationally recognized university;
  2. Certified copies of relevant certificates, transcripts, national I.D. card and passport personal details page;
  3. A 3 to 4 page research concept note (tentaive title, research questions, objectives, significance of the research etc…)
  4. Recommendation letters from 2 Professors
  5. Clear colored passport size photograph (2cmx2cm);
  6. Maximum age of 35 years for male and 40 years for female applicants.

The African Union Commission will offer full scholarships to the successful African candidates. Scholarship awardees should be committed to working in Africa after graduation.

    Good day.
    Please since many hours when I open the page to apply it doesn’t work. It shows

    ”Your machine contain dangerous malwares

    You are temporally blocked

    Please clean your machine or try from another location”

    and I’ve tried from many other location now but it’s still the same thing.

    I’m looking for what to do, please tell me.
